Family & Friends
My Gramp was a good man that always put others before himself. Life for my Gramp was are family and being a good man. To work hard and take care of the family and never put yourself before anyone else. I can remember watching him for hours and hours, work for nothing in return. He worked at a local fiber glass company for as long as I can remember. He, like many other people served in the armed forces in World War II. From what I know he was an ordnance handler for air craft, and was responsible for loading ammunition on the planes before take off. He served in the Canadian air force. After the war he returned home where he helped his father run the family chicken farm. I have no pictures of the farm but as a child I remember the building. It was a 3 story barn around 160 feet long and probably 60 feet wide. Growing up I spent almost all my time with him and my Nan until the age of 12 when I left to attend a private school. Saturday mornings was a time for a black coffee and bacon & eggs. Then to the shop for a day of fiber glassing. Nights spent with friends have a sip of rum and eating pepperoni. We loved to take walks in the woods and he would tell me about things in nature. Those walks were the fun times. My Gramp never hunted and didn't think it was something people should do. Weekends were also a time for working in the shop with friends. His good friend Raymond would come over and we would all sit around on upside down buckets while cooking mussels on the Colman stove. Another good friend was Cecil the only man I know that can say his ABC's backward faster then forward. A simple summer day could turn into a mess when he would show up. Cecil could get drunk from one beer, but I don't think he was ever drunk. Gramp would take time out of his day to do anything for anybody no questions asked. After spending his whole life working he past away only a year after retirement from cancer. I have yet to go to his grave and I will sometime soon. I haven't gone because I want to remember my Gramp the way he lived. I have and try to be a good man and live and work the same way he did.
This page is dedicated to his memory.
My mom and dad are cool and I have nothing bad to say. Mom loves to garden and would kick Martha Stewards ass in a garden show down. Plus she would drink her under the table.
