The Jeep

Pride and joy of my toys has to be my 1952 M38A1. This jeep I got from a friend of a friend and spent $400. It arrived in the driveway on a trailer in nothing more the box's and for the past 4 years its been my hobby. I have no idea of the time or money spent on it but I would guess around $2000 for parts and even more for the things I cant think of. A lot of work has gone into this jeep and I'm hoping to get it done sometime in the next two years. The house has taken up most of my time. Just this past summer I was able to get most of the big things done like the paint.

The first summer was spent just cutting and welding.

Also in that first summer my brother helped me rebuild the motor.

Then I started sand blasting the frame. After hours of sandblasting I was able to paint the frame and get it ready for the winter. All done for the first year.

Second summer was more welding cutting and making sure the body work go back together right after all that work. Then once again got it ready for winter and year 2 was done for now.

The 3rd year I didn't get much done on the jeep and it was more of playing around with the brakes, carb, axles and other odds and ends. Once again summer was over and i was forced to pack her up and move it in the back of a U-Hall to its new home in Windsor. I was force to paint her red to protect it from the rain and snow.

The forth summer I was able to really get down to work. I was able to get most of the body work and painting done this summer. Once again she's now packed up and waiting for next summer to work on it. I'll update next summer.
